Sebastian Hiriart was born in Mexico City into a diverse and culturally rich family that comprised both a talented filmmaker and a creative writer, which undoubtedly influenced and profoundly shaped his artistic and creative path from an early age. He grew up deeply immersed in the vibrant world of cinema, occasionally taking on various roles as a child actor. This experience provided him with a unique and invaluable perspective on the intricate and multifaceted process of filmmaking and storytelling itself. Since his teenage years, he has dedicated himself wholeheartedly to the camera department, starting out as a diligent camera assistant and gradually and steadily advancing to the esteemed role of a camera operator. Over the years, he has made significant contributions to a wide variety of formats, including television, films, and commercials in his respected capacity as a director of photography (DoP). To date, he has had the incredible opportunity to shoot ten feature films and has also directed three of them, showcasing his impressive versatility and undeniable talent within the competitive industry. In 2013, he received nominations for the prestigious Mexican Academy Award for best cinematography and best debut film
