Sebastian Hiriart was born in Mexico City. He grows up occasionally working as a child actor. Since his teens he started working on the camera department as a camera assistant and later camera operator. In 2002 he shoots his first feature film as a cinematographer: ROOTS TIME. Since then he has worked in feature films, shorts, television productions and TV commercials. He has shot ten feature films, was nominated for a Mexican Academy Award and has shoot TV commercials for brands like: Corona, Nescafe, Soriana, Pziser and Comex. A Stone’s Throw Away (2010), is his feature film debut as a director, shot with only ten thousand dollars, won a special mention of the jury in the San Sebastian Film Festival on it´s premier, it was presented in over forty film festivals around the world, winning more than twelve awards. The exhibition rights where acquired by HBO, NETFLIX and others. It was nominated for two Mexican Academy Award. His second film, Natural Philosophy of Love (2013), was very well received by the Mexican audiences where it played in movie theaters for two months and the rights where acquired by NETFLIX, STARZ, SOMOS TV and others. In 2009 he co-founded with his sister, Galopando Cine, a production company that has produced five features films since it´s founding. He is currently in the postproduction of his third film, Carion (2016). ______________________________________ Sebastián Hiriart nació en la Ciudad de México. Crece trabajando ocasionalmente como actor infantil. Desde su adolescencia comenzó a trabajar en el departamento de cámara como asistente y posteriormente como operador de cámara. Ha trabajado en largometrajes, cortometrajes, comerciales y producciones de televisión. En 2002 graba su primer largometraje como director de fotografía: ROOTS TIME. Ha filmado diez largometrajes, fue nominado para un premio Ariel de mejor fotografía y ha trabajado en comerciales de televisión para marcas como: Corona, Nescafé, Soriana, Pziser y Comex. A TIRO DE PIEDRA (2010), es su debut como director, ganó una mención especial del jurado en el Festival de Cine de San Sebastián, se presentó en más de cincuenta festivales en todo el mundo, ganando más de quince premios. Fue nominado para dos premios Ariel (Premio de la Academia Mexicana Cinematografía). Su segunda película, FILOSOFIA NATURAL DEL AMOR (2013), fue muy bien recibida por el público mexicano, estando en carteleras durante dos meses y donde los derechos fueron adquiridos por Netflix y Starz. En 2009, fundó junto con su hermana, GALOPANDO CINE; una compañía de producción que ha producido cinco largometrajes desde que fue fundada. Actualmente se encuentra en la post producción de su tercera película, CARROÑA (2016).
